Grace formed an early interest in sustainable food production growing up on a mixed-crop permaculture farm in North East Victoria. Selling family produce at farmers markets and through local businesses has given her a grounded experience of the joys and challenges of short supply chain systems. Grace is especially interested in how good, local food can become more accessible on a tighter budget. She volunteered in a Fitzroy community kitchen in after-school cooking programs and currently studies food systems and sustainable living at the University of Tasmania.
Grace assists operations in the Wangaratta Food Hub and transports produce between farms and food hubs in North East Victoria as part of the Regional Food Activation project. She is thrilled to be working on the ground, building face-to-face relationships with the growers and makers of her home region.
