Emily has a background in marketing, product management and content strategy. During her 22 year corporate career she was a website producer, product manager, content writer, online learning adviser, marketing coordinator, strategy consultant and community manager.
After a long period of debilitating illness she left the corporate world behind to focus on recovery. In 2016 she and her partner moved their family to a small property in rural Victoria to pursue their dreams of growing food and lead a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. The country air worked wonders and in 2019 she was delighted to join the team at the Open Food Network, answering customer enquiries a few hours a week. As her strength has gradually returned, Emily has enjoyed being able to offer more of her time to the community of growers, producers and food systems change makers that the Open Food Network supports.
When she’s not behind a desk, Emily is learning to grow food and medicine to nourish and sustain her family. One day she hopes to be able to share these skills and nature’s abundance with her wider community.
