Our Team

Maikel Linke

Maikel believes in open source software and works with our community around the world to improve the Open Food Network platform. When you request a new feature or report a bug, it’s likely that he will be working on it. He’s also keeping the server infrastructure working smoothly so that our services are available around the clock.

Additionally, Maikel works to deliver our software services to other food enterprises, including leading development of the CERES Fair Food software.

Prior to joining the Open Food Network, Maikel studied computer science and physics. He enabled humanoid robots to move more naturally and worked in a research project about the potential benefit of social robots in space.

After researching robots in Germany, where Maikel grew up, he went to travel the world and ended up in Australia. Settled in regional Victoria, he now focuses on improving the food supply chain.

In addition, Maikel is developing the email provider Ethical Mail. Stepping away from the computer, he’s trying to grow his own food and plays Capoeira with people in his community.
